  • Video file w/ transparency info?!?! What to use?

    Greetings!
My company is in early talks with a web-design company to create some ‘video overlays’ for their website. Essentially, they want a piece of video with a person talking that appears over a webpage. (The person walks out from the right side of the webpage and directly addresses the viewer.)

I know how to shoot the greenscreen footage, and I know how to pull the key in AE. What I don’t know is how to provide them with a file that has transparency information that can be used with flash.

In video I would use a QT mov with an alpha channel, I’m not sure what sort of file I should use for the web, can FLV’s have an alpha channel? What sort of file would be best for this?

    Any help would be great!

FLV would probably be the best. Yes it can have an alpha channel and flash (swf) files can be on a page and over lay other elements using the alpha channel set in the file.
