  Boris red 5.5.3 – Avid problem – preview is black halfway

  Hi!

  First post on here.
  so my problem with Boris Red is that, when i apply the Boris RED for Avid filter on the timeline and i do my sfx. when i apply and step out of Boris, Avid shows me the FX preview, but halfway into the clip, the preview turns black.

  So lets say i have a 30frame fade in, 180frame of scale up and various FX and a 30frame fade out at the end, Avid will show me the first 90frames of the FX then go black for the remaining 90frames.

  When i render, i can see the whole comp.
  Our company had AvidFX a while back and this wasnt happening, now we got Boris Red which is basicaly the same thing and were getting this problem.

  Anyone ever had this issue?

  Eric,

  This isn’t a known issue, but since you’re upgrading from AvidFX to RED, I would recommend deleting the preferences for both. If you’re on PC, the files would be located here –
  C:\Users\[CURRENT USER]\AppData\Local\BorisFX

  If you’re on a Mac, they would be located here –
  Macintosh HD :: Users :: [Current User] :: Library :: Preferences

  If this does not help, do you think you can reproduce this with a test project using some still images (just as test files small enough to send via email), and then forward this test project to support@borisfx.com?
