  Error with BCC 7.0 (I believe)

  Basically i am trying to put a BCC type on text onto a solid colour, no matter what i chose, yes or no, i still get the same error, “Critical Error – The hardware model is not supported” i also have the same problem with BCC Extruded text, not sure if it’s just text plug ins but i’ve tried a few that don’t use text and they work fine.

  What’s wrong with this?

  My laptop is 32bit windows vista.

  Hi Dale,

  The problem is that the BCC 7 filter that you are attempting to use does not appear to be compatible with the video card on the system that you are using. You will find that this is true of all of the filters that are listed in the BCC 3D Objects category.

  I don’t know if there is a way around this other than to make sure that the video drivers for the card are up to date. We’ve never tested the card that you are working with in our labs – according to the problem report that you attached, it’s an ATI Radeon Xpress 1200, which is a lower end card. The minimum level of Radeon that is officially supported by BCC is the HD2000.

  I’ve included a full list of supported video cards for BCC 7 herewith.

  NVIDIA Quadro FX 370/380/570/580/1500/1700/1800/3700/3800/4600/4800/5600/5800

  NVIDIA GeForce 200 series

  NVIDIA GeForce GT 100 series

  ATI Radeon HD2000, HD3000, HD4000, and HD5000 series

  ATI FireGL V5600–V8650

  ATI FirePro models 3700 through 8750

  If I were to recommend a card it would be the GeForce GTX 260/280.

  For a recommendation the best Quadros are the Quadro FX x800 (1800, 3800, 4800, 5800).

  Those on a budget might consider the NVIDIA Quadro FX 370/380/570/580.  Quadro FX 370/380 work but are slow. 

  NVIDIA GeForce 200 series, specifically the GTX 260/280.
