I purchased the image stabilizer as a separate unit but it down loaded with a whole bunch of stuff. BCC7 units – thanks very much. Then I had no option for Final Cut Xpress so chose the Pro option to install.

I have Mac OSX 10.5.8 2.8 GHz Intel core dual
    FC Xpres 4.0.1

I have tried some of the filters and they seem to work OK.
When I try the Image stabilizer – the reason for my purchase –
I hit the analizer button and it chugs along the action line until the end
Then the whole programme crashes and I get various messages to relaunch.
    This repeats each time.

The main message is ‘Problem may have been caused by the BCC ARTAll plug in’

I need this stabilizer plug in for a project I am now editing.

Any body had a similar experience or can give help on this? Many thanks

    Hi Tony,

I was able to use Optical stab successfully on my system here (10.5.8). Can you tell me what type of media you were using as well as your graphics card info?

    Thanks,

    -Paul

    Hi Paul

I was using Sony Camcorder with miniDV tape.
    Shooting 16:9 aspect.
Uploaded to iMac with system MAC OS X 10.5.8
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
    ATI Radeon HD 2600 chipset.
    Final Cut Express 4.0.1.

Is optical stab one of the filters?

Thanks for your help – delay due to me being GMT+1 in London

    Hi Tony,

I believe the filter you mean is “optical stabilizer.” We are currently trying to reproduce the problem you are having.

In the meantime, you might try downloading the full Try and Buy from our website (instead of the Unit). It will work watermark-free for two weeks, and you might have better luck with it. Please let me know.

    Thanks Paul

I have been in contact with help at Boris HQ and they tell me that there are other cases of this problem. They advised I send them a crash report and then to uninstall the BCC7 package and instal an older single filter optical stabilizer unit V6. I went to the link downloaded. installed and hey, it works.
So now I have an operational optical stabilizer but no other filters or goodies for my $80+>
Do I now have to make another approach to another department at Boris for a refund or free update in future when the problem is solved?
You cant win with these corporations. Some have good customer services but in the end you spend more of your time getting something you paid for than it is probably worth.
