This is the first time this has happened and it’s driving me nuts! I’m trying to cut together something for my daughter using Boris Red 3.xx as a plugin for Avid, and some of the photos given to me taken from her digi still camera are NOT showing proper aspect ratio no matter what my Red still import prefs are set to. It’s a 4×3 project. All of her photos give square pixel info in Photoshop and display proper aspect there, so that shouldn’t be the problem. I’m stumped. Any advise anyone?

    Hi,

I’m assuming that you are importing the photos directly from the desktop into RED. So, with that, when you import a photo into the RED timeline, click on the track’s disclosure arrow to reveal the face of the track. Then click on the face sub-track. You should then be able to control the Pixel Aspect Ratio settings via the pop-up in the controls window.

    Hope this helps,

    Peter.

Awesome! Thanks Peter. I would have never thought to try that. It worked flawlessly on the few stills that were problematic. Thanks again.
