Would like effects to go beyond layer size…
Hey there you all. I’m sorry for being such a nube all the time.
One thing that is always a hassle for me is that most effects only extend to the limits of a given layers dimenions. You know what am I saying? Example: Rays….only extending to the edges of the layer, rather than the comp size, which would be desirable. I know a few ways to solve that: 1. I can precompose the whole comp and then apply the effect,(however I don’t always want the effects to be applied globally) or 2. I can precompose the particular layer in question, (make it’s comp a larger size and add the effect within that precomp.
However, are their any simpler ways?
The more I play with precomps, the more confusing things can get and sometimes, flicking the collapse transformations switch doesn’t always work that well, it seems.
Any tippers on this kinda thing??
