  How to eliminate the image of a ball in Boris Red?

  Hi.
  Today is my first lesson about Boris Red 4 and I am very happy.
  However, I am feeling sick because when I start the program, I always see the same image: a ball.
  And a wall…
  Could you please help me to eliminate these images in Boris Red?
  I would like to see a blank square.

  Hi,

  Glad to hear that you’re enjoying the application. It’s a very powerful and comprehensive toolset and there are many free tutorials available on our web site at http://www.borisfx.com/tutorials.

  So, to prevent the football and brick wall from appearing every time you launch, you need to set a preference. Here’s how:

  • launch RED
  • go to edit>preferences
  • click on the behavior tab
  • enable the “Start with Empty Timeline” function
  • close the preferences window
  • exit RED
  • relaunch RED – viola – no more football!

  One thing to note is that the football is the only proxy image that is in the application and for this reason, if you create a new shape track, it will show the football. Obviously you can change that immediately by setting the media to solid color etc.
