  Boris FX + Premiere Pro = blurry image

  I’ve got a serious problem.

  I’m using Premiere Pro CS4 + Boris FX (the latest version). So, when I’m applying any BorisFX filter to my video, it spoils the picture. The image begin look very blurry (like the resolution has beed decreased and then increased back).

  The main thing that when I’m clicking on the addon’s preperties button in the Premiere and open the Boris FX interface, the preview window shows the excellent image. But when I’m goin back to premiere – the image looks blurry. The most wierd thing is that it remains blurry even if I turn all filters inside the BorisFX off.

  But when I turn off the boris filter in Premiere – everything looks ok.

  Here I’ve attached the image. The left side is when the BorisFX is off, the right – when it is on.

  Hi,

  While I’m not exactly sure what the cause of the blurriness let’s see if we can figure it out. I have a couple of questions:

  • Does the image look blurry even after you render?

  • In the BFX Project Settings, is the Generate Safe Levels option on or off?

  • In the BFX Project Settings, is the Better Quality Field Rendering option on or off?

  • In the BFX Project Settings, what is the Color Depth option set to?

  • Does the image look blurry if you use a Premiere Pro filter?

  Oh, sorry. I was my fault.

  The reason was that I’ve set interleaced mode for the sequence. Changed it to progressive and everything became ok.

  Hope, somebody will find this experience useful 🙂
