Boris Red – Only default presets under Vegas Pro 8
Posted by Anand Narayan on July 4, 2008 at 12:50 pmI am “trialing” Boris Red under Vista64 at the moment. I can’t see any transitions or video effects other than the default presets in Vegas 8. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

You need to enter the RED user interface and select the Library browser window to see the rest of the presets. There should be somewhere in the region of 1500 preset effects.
Cheers,
Peter.

You can add as many Boris RED presets as you like to Vegas. Do as Peter suggests and find the FX you want from the Library Browser or add them yourself. Change any parameters you’d like and then apply the FX in RED. Once you return to Vegas, give the preset a name and press the diskette icon to save it. A new preset will show up next to Default in the Vegas FX window.
I have BCC Chroma Key and BCC Matte Cleanup applied as a single preset which I saved under the name “Chroma Keyer”. Then when I want to do any chroma key work in Vegas, I apply this preset to my video event and when I go into RED everything is set up the way I like it. It’s a great time saver. Do this for all your favorite RED FX.

I’m not sure what you mean by “move”. You have to save them as you create them. There are no presets by default.
