About 15 months ago I created a 1 hour TV show that is filled with text/titles that i created in Title 3D. I am 90% sure this was in FCP 5.

Today I got great news … a European broadcaster wants to air the show too… wow, am I stoked! I just need to make a few tweaks at their request.

I open the project and it asks if I want to upgrade the project… I click OK… the project opens perfectly except that all the TEXT created in TITLE 3D is missing.

The clips are still there…. but when I double click the “TITLE 3D” in the controls window, I get this message

“These settings are not compatible with this version of Title 3D”

Of course I have come up with a few solutions
    1. re type all the text (ug I wanna puke on myself)
    2. cut and copy from the QT export (still wanna puke)
    3. i tried to click “no” update, but as y’all might know, the project closes.

I really just want a REAL solution..

I am currently using FCP 5.14… did this upgrade fook me?

thanks for any help or insite..

    cheers

I am also ‘missing’ the Title 3D from my viewer. I just upgraded to FCut 6.0.2, and i noticed that Boris is missing. It is not in my Effects tab either.

It’s still in the Application folder, but i can’t find it through FCut.

What i’ve been doing in the mean time is a copy/pasting previous Title 3D clips where i need another, and i modify that. But i cannot create a ‘new’ title.

I opened the project on my Mac Book PRO instead of my old dual 2.5 G5 and the Boris Title 3D is now viewable.

Although both machines are running the same version of FCP… the titles can only be seen on the intel mac…

    cheers

    Hi,
I am in the same situation that is at the origin of this post : since my upgrade to FCP 6, I can’t use Title 3D for new projects. When I read old projects using Title 3D, I get a message saying that Title 3D is not available and proposing to load it from another directory; if I select it in the original directory, it works, but only with the original text.
That’s why I would have found it fair, for the COW users, to share on this forum the successful answer made by Boris expert.
    Thank you in advance
    Pierre
