I’m fairly new to RED and completely new to FCP, so overall I am one confused newbie with a lot of questions. Here’s one:

When I go to Effects>Video Filters>Boris>Boris RED 4.1 and drag the icon onto a clip in the timeline, there is immediately what seems to be a “default” spin and tumble effect that I did not program.

When I open the RED interface, however, there are no spin or tumble effects on the RED timeline. All the Spin and Tumble parameters are set to zero as I would expect them to be.

This is more a curiosity than a problem, but I still wonder why there’s a “default” effect, or whether I set a preference somewhere that would explain this behavior.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,

This is a known issue with the software and once you reenter the FCP timeline from RED the spin and tumble that you see should disappear.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
