FCP PROJECT WON’T OPEN…BORIS PROBLEM?
When I click on a project, the final cut pro window opens and you can see all the effects loading in the bottom right corner of the window. Then it stops on gaussian blur and 5 seconds later the whole window disappears. I am now looking at just my wallpaper with no desktop items. The top tool bar is there and the mouse will move but can’t click on anything. I tried running disk warrior and disk first aid. I tried trashing the preferences. I tried disconecting the hard drives. I think the problem is with the gaussian blur effect, everytime it gets to that point it freezes. Has anyone seen anything like this? The worst part of all is the project I was opening is just about done. Thanks for any help. Brett

With a little help from Ken Stone I was able to fix the problem by taking two effects out of the boris plugin folder and putting them on my desktop. FCP will now open! 🙂
