in Adobe’s new feature highlights for v 6.5 is the following:

Create templates to build meaningful output file names automatically. Names can be based on 21 different properties, such as frame dimensions, field order, pulldown phase, compressor, or color depth.

I can’t figure out how to do this however.

    any ideas?

Add your comp to the render queue. Select the pulldown arrow next to “Output To”. Select “Custom”. This brings up the “File Name Templates” dialog. Add properties that you want in your file name, give the preset a name, and save.

Now your custom naming template will be in the “Output To” pulldown list.
