Help with blood stains
Alright so im having trouble adding a blood stain to a sweat shirt for when someone gets shot.
here is the footage im using. What would be the best method of doing this? -

You’re not going to like this, but the best method would be a practical effect during shooting. Maybe a ziploc bag full of corn syrup died red.
If you’re asking what the best worst method to fake it would be, then that would start with trying to track the sweatshirt (your footage is very grainy, this will be difficult), then using the tracking data to composite a dark red blotch that is revealed via Transition > Gradient Wipe. This will take a great deal of finessing just to get it to look somewhat acceptable.
On another note, your footage looks very underexposed with lots of video noise in some cases and incredibly contrasted and overexposed in others. In some cases there is interlacing evident and in others there is not. You face a great deal of technical hurdles. Is re-shooting an option? Is this intended for a reel or are you just messing around?

No i have been using Ae for awhile now. My friend wanted me to try to add a stain. I advised him to use ketchup or something next time. And Action movie essentials isn’t the magical solution By the way.
