  audio waveforms missing

  Problem mysteriously appeared. I started a new project…imported the audio and when I opened the audio waveform tab…no waveforms. I tried re-importing the clip and various other audio files with the same result. I’ve checked my preference windows and nothing has changed. Any suggestions? It’s a pain to keyframe without waveforms to visually see the beats. Thanks in advance.
