  What RAM should i buy ???

  Hi there !
  Im about to buy my new PC for AE and im dealing with a dilema.

  I want 8gb but i dont know wich one to buy DDR2 800 (PC6400)
  or DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500).
  I know 1066 is better but is more expensive and there are a few motherboards to choose (dont like them), wile the 800 is cheaper and has tons of motherboards to choose (great ones).

  So, its worth to spend like 150 dlls more and get the expensive one and a dislike mobo ? or the diference is not worth it and is better save bucks get 800 and choose a nicer mobo ?

  please help, i need my new PC so bad.

  If the motherboard you’d get with 1066MHz RAM isn’t up to snuff, then go with the 800MHz RAM.

  In the case of the motherboards that will support 1066MHz RAM: Is it the brand you disapprove of? The expansion slots?

  Can be the brand, but the ppl reviews is what i dont like.. besides if im going to spend 200-300 dlls for a mobo, i want it to have everything.

  So, talking about performance.. is there a huge difference between 800 to 1066 ??

  And what do u mean by snuff up ?

  Oh I’d say about 266MHz (;

  I haven’t seen benchmarks, and I’m not sure that you’ll be able to find any. Most people will test RAM throughput as an afterthought.

  I think 800MHz RAM would be fine.
