  Using lights

  Hi there.
  I wanted that a light to cut a solid, but the light is in the background of the solid, and i wanted that the solid doesn’t be black.
  I know that if i put the light in the back, the solid became black, but if i put an ambient ligt, it doesnt cut le layer.
  Can anyone help me?
