  AE and QT

  I’ve tried all day with AE 6.0 to import a QT and then Export as MPEG 4 to get a pretty good 1.8 meg file.

  Now, I’m wondering, is there any way to integrate the standard QT controls with the exported MPEG 4 file?

  Reason being, is that I’m guessing the html file which defines the attributes of the embedded MPEG 4 takes about two/three seconds to initialize the plug-in, then I get the nice Q symbol and then the file plays.

  What I’m after is the immediacy of “www.wussman.com” and click the Audio/Video and click any “large” clip. It loads to a new window and instantly plays.

  The file I’m exporting out of AE is set at a data rate of 256, Frame rate of 30, keys every 15..Enable Streaming is checked with the defaults of 1450 and 100 as well as the “optimize” box being checked.

  It’s actually smaller than the clips at the above site and yet I’m just wondering if I include the player controls within the file to speed anything up.

  If you render a quicktime movie via the render-queue, it doesn’t have “Prepare for Internet Stremaing / Fast Start” Enabled,
  You can enable this feature if you choose your Comp and then go “File / Export /Quicktime Movie”

  Without that Setting, the suicktime plugin in the browser usually loads the entire clip before it starts playing.

  The Wussman example didn’t even use a html-page, it just points straight to the quicktime.mov files.
