Best Video Proxy Codec?
Hey,
Im working on dvcpro hd 720p60 project, and my video reference files tend to slow things down quite a bit. I tried to proxy them, but I don’t notice a huge difference in file size or playback when I make them dvcpro at half resolution. I was thinking it might be because After Fx has spends alot of processor’s power decoding the compressed video. I tried using a super low quality animation (uncompressed) codec, but those files were over 6 gigs, and of course no faster in After Fx (i sure because the huge file size). So my question is, what is the best codec to proxy files in After Fx. What will have a small file size, and not slow After Fx when Im working?
I have never been able to find any official adobe documentation on the matter of what file types that are easiest for After Fx to deal with. Anyone know if anything like that exists? Seems like my scenes get chunky pretty quick, and Im always trying to find ways to speed up my workspace.
Thanks for the help =)
