  Keying a gradient..

  Looking at a stock image of a rose opening. For the gipper, you can see the footage at https://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=1&language=en-US&family=footage&lic=rf&mt=photography&c=color&p=blooming%20rose&src=standard

  it’s the top left image.

  I’ve tried a quick try to see how successful I could be at keying out that background without resorting to animated masks… I got pretty close but wondered what ideas all would have as to the best method.

  Other clips are Rights-Ready/Managed and unfortunately, in this case, the client doesn’t have the budget for a $1000 clip!

  You don’t key out the background, key the foreground and then reverse it.

  You will use many stacked copies of the clip, each with a different matte type or color specified.
