Hey everyone. This might be a little difficult to describe, so please bear with.

I’ve got a paintbrush graphic in AE that I’m moving around as if it were the mouse. Attached to the paintbrush is a little empty box. Now they are moving over a shot of the outdoors. As this is happening, I’m trying to get the color that the paintbrush is over, into the little box, changing frequently as the paintbrush moves around.

It’s pretty similar to when you move your mouse around in AE regularly and the color that it’s over shows up in that little box in the Info Panel. Only I need to have that color show up on screen.

I’m hoping someone can help me with some direction on this one and hoping that I won’t have to try and do it all by hand.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hi Ed,

If I’m reading you correctly and you have CS3 then give Dan Ebbert’s expression example a little read. This should do what you want.

    Good luck with your project,
    Ben

Wow Ben, that’s exactly what I’m looking for! My only problem is that I’ve still running AE 7/CS2.
I’m thinking I’ll ask on the Expression forum and see if they can possibly tweak that example.
    Much thanks!

    Hey Antony

That’s pretty much what I’m looking for. The previous poster found exactly what I needed though.
Unfortunately they’re both in CS3 and I’m still running AE 7.
I really appreciate the help though!
