  Bare Bone After Effects For Vector Animation

  I have been searching the threads, and the tutorials, and there seems to be nothing specifically aimed towards animation of vector artwork created in Illustrator. I just need to know the bare bones basics, not advanced rendering or scripting.

  Any suggestions are very welcome!

  Aside from steps 1 and 2 below, animating Illustrator layers is the same as animating photoshop layers, or just about anything else.

  1. Import the Illustrator file as a composition to preserve the layers.

  2. To keep each layer sharp, hit the “continuous rasterization” button for each layer. It looks like a sun.

  3. Read the sections (in the manual) on animation to learn how to set keyframes for the properties you want to animate.
