  Same Day Edit Tips

  Jason Magbanua from the Philippines has perfected the Same Day Edit over the years. He is the Kink of Same Day Edits. He had a webinar on the Event DV website last week.

  I have done same day edits during the Tape Days and now with media cards, it is much faster, but still challenging.

  I have an extra person for ingesting the media. I organize pre-labeled folders for this. I already have the music and timeline laid out, titles pre-made, & a few DVD’s pre-printed to give to the client at the end of the night if we have time to make the DVD’s.

  The key to same day edits is planning and time management. If you are the editor, you have to have other trusted videographer’s to shoot during the reception while you edit. I’ve even done some editing during longer wedding ceremonies.
