music for educational video
Hello,
I’m crating an educational video for a client and naturally I want to include a sound track as inexpensively as possible (free?)
The DVD will be sold to my client but he/she will not then resell it. If this makes a difference.
What are my options?
Can I use public domain music for free?
Can I use Freeplay.com music for free?
Is there a recommended Stock music site that’s good bang for the buck?
other options?Thanks for any tips!

If you use Final Cut suite, you can build nice free tracks using Garage Band or Soundtrack pro. Sounddogs.com is an inexpensive source for buy-out stuff, I like them. Also Music Bakery is nice.
I am a big fan of Sonic Fire Pro, but that’s probably out of your price range. -

I use Sony Vegas Pro, so GB is out.
But I’ll check the others you mentioned. I checked out Freeplay music… after reading the fine print, they’re quite pricey and far from “free”.

For your paltform the logical thing to have is Acid, or at least import some Acid loops into Vegas, to compose custom music cues with. Vegas after all began life as an excellent audio loop editor, and video only came to it later:-)

Just use what you’ve purchased for the production.

If you’re in a crunch for time, goto: https://www.musicalley.com I’ve used them for some podcasts. This is a place where artitist upload their music and allow people to use their songs, so they get more exposure. Or you can always make your own sound tracks, which is better because you own and create a library for future videos.
