  • Light for Canon GL2?

Posted by Jeffrey Stevens on September 26, 2005 at 6:14 pm

Have a Canon GL-2 camera and videotape weddings once in a while. During the couple dance, the lights are dimmed so low that’s difficult to see the couple. What is the best light to get and at what wattage would allow me to get good video in the very dark situations? Please help.

I use the XM2 (the same camera, but it PAL land) and use the Canon VL10 light. It is a 10W light and uses the same battery types as the camera. It’s more than bright enough for the bridal waltz.

Canon also makes a 3W light that runs off the accessory shoe power – not sure if that would be birght enough.
