At a post house still on FCP7, haven’t run into these issues before. I have an editor complaining of two issues:

The first is that he has stereo pairs becoming unlinked in his timeline, apparently at random. It will occur in segments of his timeline that he claims not to have touched, and if he goes back a version the stereo pairs are intact. Does anyone know of an operation he might be doing to unlink stereo pairs besides modify>unlink stereo pair?

He also tells me he has clips disappearing from one version of his sequence to the next. The files are completely intact on our shared server, but gone from his timeline. He’s been going back to previous versions of his sequences to paste the clips in. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

I did a quick search of other threads with no luck, but if this has been answered elsewhere please let me know.

    Thanks!

    thought 1:
    is this FCP 7.0 perhaps?
maybe a re-install without the update?

    thought 2:
    try trashing preferences
