• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  New to FCP

  I just got Final Cut Studio. I’m running an imac OS 10.6.8 with plenty of HD space and over 100 gig of available memory.
  I installed the first installation DVD with no problems. When asked to insert the 2nd disc, it did its thing for a while, but “then” I was prompted to “insert the install DVD” again. not sure what I am doing wrong. Any thoughts?

  Well it’s been a long time since I did an install, but from distant memory you might have to put disk one back in when it prompts. Might seem unusual but try following the prompts. Did you do that and the install failed?

  I seem to remember that too, back and forth between disks, something about the installation order of the files. Try just following the instructions. It may not be a bug.

  Easiest thing to do is make disc images of all the discs. Mount them all, hit install and walk away. In about 20 minutes it is installed, no disc swapping and your discs are backed up on an external hard drive.
