I need to purchase a new external drive to edit using esata on FCP 7. I’ve always used graids. But I’m hesitant to purchase a refurbished drive or a used Graid. Do any of you have opinions of a Glyph Studio 2000 or a OWC Mercury elite?

    Thanks.

OWC is a very good company with reliable products and very nice return, repair, replace policies. They have never disappointed me…

Just be weary with OWC external power supply. I have twenty external drives for them. When the power supplies started to fail, they wanted $20 a piece to replace. No rhyme or reason for the failure. It gets expensive when they don’t stand behind the power supply.
