  FCP7 user preference still setting defaults to 00:12:12

  Didn’t find this issue in other posts.

  Just trashed preferences in FCP7 after major bizarre behavior. When resetting user preferences, the still duration had defaulted to 00:12:12, Preview Preroll :06:12 and preview post roll :02:12. Why?

  Previously the defaults were :10:00, 05:00, and 02:00 respectively. I changed the odd default back to the 10,5,2 settings.

  My Easy setup is – HD DVCPro 720p24.

  Not sure this is anything critical, but concerned that the odd number is coming from an incorrect setting that FCP is seeing.

  yeah, frame rate issue.

  once you have your preferences set up the way you like them,
  it makes sense to back them up,
  then when you need to trash them again, replace them with the backup.
  this can save you lots of time
