  Adding still images (jpegs or tiffs) to FCP 7 apple prores 422 timeline

  Hello,
  I want to add some photos to my FCP 7 video project timeline. My sequence settings are set for apple prores 422 video footage that was shot with a canon 5d. Are JPEGS fine to add, or am i better off using a different photo file format? I know there are huge problems when mixing video frame rates, etc on the timeline, want to know if there are any issues with photo images.

  what are the format the photos are in?
  if they’re already jpeg, i don’t think changing them to something else will make them any better for using in FCP
