  creating a text/title like this one

  hi,

  ive done this in photoshop but i was hoping to have a hi-res animated version of a title that looked more or less like this, witht he lights in the back moving across behind the title/words.

  I would recommend Trapcodes SHINE plug-in.

  If you have the money, yes, Trapcode imakes great stuff.
  Otherwise, experiment with the Light Burst and Light Rays filters you already have in AE. They’re a bit tricky but there is plenty of information in the effects guide pdf that is on the installer disk.
