hello, i was sitting at a newly installed AE CS3 on a Mac Pro 2,6 workstation, with i think 6-7 GB RAM. i was working on a very simple animation with no more than 10 layers or so…hardly anything animated, nd nothing more than a little drop shadow…i think i had C4D open at the same time maybe even word, but there nothing intensive going on with any of the programs…i had to input a Jpeg and after the import AE was woking very poorly…i mean like a 15 second lag…i could switch between programs and the mac still operated elsewhere very no real noticable problems, but in AE i was real slow…i thought it had to do with the JPEG so i threw it into photohop and saved it as a tiff and erased the old jpeg from the project, and still experienced lag…i shut the mac down restarted and worked ok, but then after the import of another file i was stuck in slow mans land…i dont know what i should do, iv never had such a prooblem before…anyone have suggestions?

    thanks a lot…

How large was this JPEG? What version of Word do you have, and was it open again the second time you tried it? What is Activity Monitor showing before and during this slowdown? What are your memory & cache settings? Any other information you care to share? What did you have for breakfast this morning?

    =)
