  h.264 or dv

  Hi All,

  I don’t know if I am making any sense with this but here we go. I am transferring some old video to my hard drive. I am wondering if I should transfer my information using a uncompressed dv format or if I should use the h.264. I want the best possible so that I can make changes in the future. dv will be a bigger file but it allows me more creative choices in the future I think. Plus I can make h.264 files from those bigger files. But does it matter. Does nobody know. I just want to preserve my memories for the future.

  H.264 is a good archiving for watching codec. But if you plan on editing the footage, DV/NTSC is your best bet.
