  Playback good but no audio.

  Is there a mute button in FCP7?

  I’m playing back the footage I was just working on, a minute ago it had audio signal… the audio there but the volume meter is not showing any signal.

  You have some small loudspeaker icons in the left side of the audio channels to mute those.
