Problems exporting to Pro Res HQ
Hi,
I need to export a collection of short films to a ProRes HQ 1080 master (either 1080i or 1080p, doesn’t matter). All of the short films are different sizes–most are 720×480, but a couple are 720×540, and one is 960×720. They are also a mix of different codecs–most are DV/DVCPRO – NTSC, but a couple are Apple ProRes 422, a couple are Animation, one is H.264, and one is DVCPRO HD 720p60.
When I export, there are serious issues in quality loss/visual noise, and there are also little aspect ratio issues, like some vertical squeezing in some of the shorts.
Would love any advice on how I should set up my sequence before exporting–ie, with what codec?
And then, does the FCP exporter just automatically lead to serious quality loss? Should I export the sequence in some other way and then use a different program, like Sorenson Squeeze, to make the Pro Res file?
Thank you for any help you might be able to offer!
