  How do I go about creating a photo-jpeg 8-bit file from a clip and how does one find out what how many bits a clip is?

  PhotoJPEG is an 8b codec (YUV/RGB), so all your PhotoJPEG files will be 8b.

  Many thanks Rafael.
  Is there a way of knowing if footage is 8-bit or 10-bit?
  Tried in places like Item Properties but the only mention of bit is in relation to sound.
