  how to make a sequence into seperate clips

  I was given some large clips of an interview with some dodgy sound luckily there was also backup recording in wav format which had clean sound. However I needed to sync them up. I did this by laying down an original interview clip in the timeline muting the sound track and then putting the wav clip in the bottom track and then highlighting it all and hitting ctrl-L which linked the clips.

  I now want to edit these long clips; how do I make them into separate clips that appear in the browser and can be edited so I can cut out what I don’t need.

  I tried marking In and Out points and then using the ‘make subclip’ function but that made a new sequence which doesn’t appear in the viewer.

  Slice the long clip in the sequence.

  DRAG the clip from the sequence into the browser – new clip.

  Drop NEW clip into NEW sequence.

  Typically, one doesn’t do this in the timeline. ONe marry’s the video and audio in the BROWSER using the MERGE CLIPS command. Find the IN point on the video that matches the IN point on audio…or if they have matching timecode, all the better.
