• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  FCP 4.0 stalls at “loading audio filters” on start-up !

  Hi All,
  I have loaded FCP 4.0 NFR onto my sons MacBook PowerPC G4, 1.5 GHz, 512 cash, 2 GB ram, 167 MHz
  running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and QT 7.6.9

  Final Cut will not start-up after being sucessfully installed.
  It stalls on “loading audio files” with the spinning color wheel of death.

  Live type works fine, as well as Sound Track.

  I have searched for soultion but have come up with none.

  You guys have saved me many time over the last 10 years,
  Can you Please help me with this problem.

  This is usually caused by third party AU plugins. Do you have anything like this? You have to remove them to run the application.

  where would i find a third party plugin if i had one?

  They can be in a lot of different places. It depends on where the application might install them, usually somewhere in Library>Audio or Library>Application Support (not the home library). Do you have apps like ProTools or other audio apps?

  would flash player be considered an audio app or would itunes cause this?

  No, neither of those. Try doing a software update. That’s a very old version of FCP with a fairly new version of the OS and QuickTime. There may be a problem there.

  i looked up software update and there was three updates available.
  final cut pro hd version 4.5
  compressor 1.2.1 version 1.2.1
  live type 1.2 for final cut pro hd version 1.2

  the problem is that when i install the update and then when it’s done a pop-up says i need to restart the computer. i restart the computer and check the updates again and software updates says there are three updates available,
  final cut pro hd version 4.5
  compressor 1.2.1 version 1.2.1
  live type 1.2 for final cut pro hd version 1.2

  it is not updating when i go through the update process. what can be wrong?

  i found out what worked for me. i went ahead and updated each update individually and it seemed to work. fcp hd version 4.5 is what i ended updating too and it opened up on the first try. i also updated to live text 1.2 verison 1.2
