  • Warning – dropped frames when I watch effect in canvas

I am making a short film for a poem I wrote, and there’s a scene where I use a fire, with a kaleidoscope effect added. The whole video runs fine in canvas except when it gets to the effect, then it gives me the “dropped frames” effect. I just bought this mac book pro, so I know it can’t be a memory problem, please let me know. thank you.

Also, this is my first time using this forum, so if I did something wrong i’m sorry

What video codec are you editing? And, do you have your media on the system drive or an external? Editing requires media to be on an external drive (not a USB drive BTW).

It was mod, but I converted it to mp4, and no… it’s all saved on my internal hard drive, and it works fine except for the effect.

Carps, convert your footage to a decent codec. Mp4 is not supported in FC.
About the Drop frames warning, uncheck “warn next time”.

Oh that’s strange that the video imports and plays fine if mp4 isn’t supported.

what’s a good codec to use?

and can I convert my already edited video to a different one?
