I tried this in the regular Final Cut forum, but got no responses. Maybe my issue was too fundamental and better suited to this more basic environment. Or maybe I shouldn’t post a new question at 5:00 on a Friday. Either way, please forgive this double posting.

I’d like to place the same phrase into the Comments field of several clips in a bin. I know that I can Shift+Select the clips I’d like to apply this to and then Ctrl+Click the Comments field on any one of the clips and a pulldown menu appears of many of the entries I’ve put in before. Here’s the question: what order are these entries in here? They aren’t alphabetical, they aren’t in there in the order they’ve been added to the project, they aren’t there prioritized by number of times used.

I’m asking because I use comments a lot. In fact I use them so much I’ve discovered there seems to be a 200 entry limit for what appears in the pulldown list. And they appear to be in a completely random order. So second question: is there a way to clean the list so they do appear in some sort of order?

Or (question 3) is there another way to paste an entry into several clips Comments field at once?

    Very bugged,

    Martin

There are no good answers to any of these questions.

There is no priority on the comment order.

There is no way to clean the list in a project.

There is no way to paste to multiple fields.

    All good feature requests.

    All the best,

    Tom

Just to add to what tom said.

The order they exist in is the initial order they were entered in.
