The idea is to combine images of a speaker behind a podium with a big picture so that it will look as though the speaker is in front of a screen with the picture.

So, using the wireframe, I reduced the image of the speaker (who was shot in front of a white screen) to just over thumbnail size, and put it into a timeline in a track over (and I also tried under) the background image, with the speaker near the bottom left corner.

I tried all sorts of combinations of Composite Mode and alpha type, but nothing comes close to working.

    Help please. Deadline looming.

If shot against a green or blue screen you could key it, but against a white bg, no way, that’s just not how it’s done.

I agree with David…as a last resort you can try a Color Key where it will let you pick white but it probably will not work.

Actually, chroma key and mask feather did the job fine. Didn’t use a green screen because the shoot is in a small room, and we didn’t want to change locations and hassle the lights necessary for that.
