  motion tab missing?

  In my effects tab my MOTION tab has disappeared? so i cant move a clip around the screen.
  I have edited the same clip into the timeline again and the motion tap reappears?
  Any ideas?

  Sounds Silly, but did you try and show all window command? Usually the set to one of your F keys.
  If you don’t use the F keys for FCP. Otherwise, just use the touchpad>4 fingers swipedown

  It can hidden behind the Viewer or Canvas windows. If none of that reveals, the mighty motion tab, then close the viewer window, and hit Control+U (standard layout)

  You can always go under the window menu, or CMD+1 to bring up the viewer.
