Ive only ever edited on systems at work. I’m still teetering on the edge of buyig my own Apple. I play a lot of MMO games as well. An aquaintance of mine has a 17 inch macbook with FCP7 on it and World Of Warcraft. He says it plays fine, but crossing the streams like that always made me nervous. I never liked the idea of have too much stuff on a computer when it was meant for one thing mainly. But is it a big deal? Would having games like WoW and Black Ops on the same system you edit effect anything? Of course I would not be running the games and editing at the same time.

    Hi Vincent,
Todays computers are much powerful and can run many processes and applications at the same time without problems.
Is to you to be more or less conservative and test how much you can push your Mac, but in the end is not a big deal. Forcing your Mac, you can end-up with some internal software mess, but I can’t imagine of any possible hardware issue.
Starting with an optimized system will always help.

Apple computers rarely, if ever, suffer the consequences of cross-application screwiness that Windows machines suffer. FCP has more issues with intalling poorly written plugins than it does from running other applications.
