  Which DVCPRO HD setting to choose to convert a .mov file

  Hello,

  I have a .mov file on USB which I want to edit on FCP5. I have been advised to edit it using DVCPRO HD but I don’t know which of the settings to use… 720p30… 1080p30… I’m completely lost.

  The footage was initially recorded on an SD camera as a progressive format, and apparantly the camera records at 30fps. I converted the file from MPEG2 to .mov via a HP laptop as my Mac wouldn’t recognise the MPEG file and I hadn’t had the chance to explore MPEG Streamclip (i’m new).

  So, with all this in mind which DVCPRO HD setting, if any, would be best?

  is there a good reason to up rez this footage?

  But you would want to keep the framerate the same as your footage.
