Thanks for your help on the photo wavy line issue. It seems a big culprit is the DV timeline.

BUT it is also a render issue in that photos with moves in and out done early in the edit don’t have the problem as pronounced. Also now I get images with movies from motion key frame sometimes going to black after render.

It has been suggested it is a render file issue with a past file corrupted.
*1 hour 25 min documentary on FCP 6 in DV timeline with a variety of formats archival and photos and others. MAC, 2- quad core, Intel.
    Questions:
*Can I trash past render files without causing edit problems?
*How do I do it most effectively so I know I have dumped all files?
*Do I trash just visuals renders or audio as well?
*How long will re- render take?
*Any other things to be wary of?

    Thanks.
    Peace, Huey

[James Coleman] “*Can I trash past render files without causing edit problems?”

    yes

[James Coleman] “*How do I do it most effectively so I know I have dumped all files?”

go to the location where you told FCP to put your render files and simply delete them

[James Coleman] “How long will re- render take?”

that depends entirely on your system, your media and what ever effects you have done to your project, we cannot tell you.
