Final Cut transitions
I am a 3D modeler and I am trying to create a demo reel in final cut pro. However, for some reason this time the transition just don’t seem to work correctly as they have before. Every time I place the transitions between my clips it will go black when it starts and when it finishes but works as it should in the middle. I have the appropriate handles on every clip and i have changed every setting that I can think of with no effect. Maybe I am just missing something simple but I am at the end of my rope. Anything would be a big help, Thanks.

What transitions are you trying to use and what effect are you trying to achieve.

I am trying to use a dip to color dissolve or fade in/fade out. I just want the two clips to smoothly transition from one to another by fading to black then fading from black into the new clip. I think I may be missing a step because it has worked before.
