On my PC based video editing systems when scrubbing or previewing audio at speeds higher than x1 the speech remains intelligable. In FCP once you go up a notch or two the audio becomes choppy and speech quickly unintelligable. Is there a way to prevent this happening?

    Thanks

This is a limitation of Quicktime. I have found that working in DV or DVCPRO you can go two or four times speed and still understand the audio.

Try to see if using different codecs like the ones I mentioned improve your situation.
