  Log and Transfer codecs

  I have a Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder and Final Cut 6. On this camera you shoot to the hard drive; when I go to the log and transfer window my final cut does not recognize the camera. When I try the same thing on my friends Final Cut 7 it does recognize the camera.

  Does anyone know what I can do to solve this problem? Any codecs I can download?
