• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  n00b FCP7 camera advice?

  Hi all, first post here.

  I work for a small non-profit that has been doing cruddy vids with a Sony handy-cam and Windows movie-maker.

  We just got an amazing donation of a whoop-ass Mac and Final Cut Pro 7.

  Our current cam only records in MP4 (yeah, I know, but I had no responsibility for the purchase)

  I’m looking for recs on a decent cam that plays nice with FCP7.

  Requirements:
  Plug and edit easily with FCP7
  Mic and headphone jacks
  Decent low-light capability
  Less than $800

  I know nothing about video except for shooting and editing on our previous crap-tastic set-up, so I apologize in advance for the n00bishness of the question.

  Any camera can play nice with FCP, you just need to convert the movies to something like prores. If you tell us your budget and what you normally shoot we can give you educated advice.
