  Audio Filters need reinstalled and general error message

  Working on a sequence on an IMAC in FCP 6.0.6 that came from a MacBook Pro using FCP 6.0.6

  We have the same audio filters but upon opening the sequence in the imac, we get the need to reinstall audio filters – audiodistortion message.

  When rendered, the red line stays and the beeping is heard in playback

  I tried the Render for item playback, the redline disappeared but now i get a general error

  Help…what else can i try? how do i reinstall audio filters? and why is some of the footage now not playing when rendered and creating general error?

  I’m not sure about the general error or the apparent lack of filters. Maybe trashing prefs and repairing permissions will help. As for the beeping, that happens when FCP doesn’t like the audio format. Always convert any audio to Linear PCM, 48kHz, 16 or 24 bit in an external editor before bringing it into FCP. You can use,Quicktime Pro, Soundtrack Pro, MPEG Streamclip or any other program that can convert audio.

  The trashing seemed to work and then rendering audio for item level only – it’s all working fine again
